Unione Camere Penali
L’Unione della Camere Penali Italiane, fondata nel 1982, è una associazione federativa di penalisti cui aderiscono 130 Camere Penali territoriali; ad esse sono iscritti più di 9000 avvocati penalisti. È attualmente presieduta dall’Avv. Gian Domenico Caiazza, coadiuvato da una Giunta composta da 12 avvocati. L’Unione promuove la conoscenza, la diffusione, la concreta realizzazione e la tutela dei valori fondamentali del diritto penale e del giusto ed equo processo penale, elaborando studi ed organizzando iniziative culturali e politiche volte a migliorare il sistema penale e processuale penale. Opera al fine di garantire la corretta applicazione delle norme di legge e per sostenere le riforme dell’ordinamento giudiziario coerenti con i valori di indipendenza, autonomia e terzietà del giudice. Tutela, inoltre, anche attraverso l’elaborazione di proposte di riforma legislativa, il prestigio ed il rispetto della funzione del difensore, affinché i diritti e le prerogative dell’avvocatura ed il diritto di difesa siano garantiti conformemente alle norme costituzionali e internazionali.
