SATURDAY, 16th AND SUNDAY 17th OF NOVEMBER
CASERTA AND POMPEI – Royal Palace of Caserta and the excavations of PompeiiTwo days tour

The Royal Palace of Caserta is a former royal residence in Caserta, constructed by the House of Bourbon-Two Sicilies as their main residence as kings of Naples. It is one of the largest palaces erected in Europe during the 18th century. Started in 1750, the palace was finished in 1845. It has 5 floors, 1,200 rooms, 1247 windows, including apartments of indescribable beauty, unique rooms of its kind and rooms with rare paintings and collections. The back façade of the building is flanking a long alley with artificial fountains and cascades that connect the Italian Garden to the English Garden.
The excavations of Pompeii are extraordinary material evidence of the ancient world, thanks to the state of preservation of the city, which remained practically intact after the eruption of 79 A.D. erased it from the Vesuvian landscape. The itinerary winds through streets – such as the Via dell’Abbondanza, the most important, lined with houses and the city’s most renowned workshops – public monuments like the amphitheatre and the theatre, up to the famous Villa dei Misteri. The visit will include the most famous buildings but also those recently reopened to the public after long restorations.
Price: 452,00 euros pp, included VAT 22% private transfer, specialised English guide, entrance tickets and headset, overnight stay in hotel**** with breakfast, dinner on November 16th and light lunch on November 17th. Minimum of 10 people is necessary in order to confirm the tour. Pick-up/drop-off point is Luiss (Congress venue).
